JAMA. 2009;301(1):107-108. doi:10.1001/jama.2008.908

Robert Butler must be counted as one of the princes of geriatric medicine in the United States. He has led a long and industrious career as physician, educator, medical civil servant, and, above all, champion of the elderly. He won the Pulitzer prize in 1976 forWhy Survive? Being Old in America, and he has authored or coauthored 15 other books as well as numerous articles in both the professional and lay press. So when this man writes a new book with the ambitious title ofThe Longevity Revolution: The Benefits and Challenges of Living a Long Life, US physicians should take notice.
